What is it?
Okay, it is given – these are the stainless steel tanks. So maybe the better question will be: what’s inside?
I’m traveling, and might not have time for a proper post. And it is a long weekend in the USA, so let’s have some fun, shall we?
Here is a picture – and yes, I want you to guess what is inside of those tanks:
I will give you two hints:
- There is alcohol inside
- I’m in France

Thanks for playing. What chilling jackets? The stainless steel tank is a stainless steel tank… The answer is coming.
Most fermentation tanks have the “dimpled” look. That’s the “jacket” or a second layer over the actual tank creating a cavity for the cooling liquid to circulate and maintain the correct temperature. There are also additional thin coolant pipes visible. Also, no clean out port at the bottom. I could be wrong, but these don’t look like fermentation tanks to me.
I’m not a specialist in stainless steel tank constructions. Cooling or not, but these tanks are maintaining constant temperature – it is one of the features. It is not just storage.
Not claiming I am 100% certain, just going by what I see in the picture 🙂
